Southeast Michigan is in the middle of a 90+ degree heat wave, and we’re now officially under an Extreme Heat Watch. High temperatures and humidity can be dangerous—especially for kids, seniors, and those without access to air conditioning. Thankfully, Ann Arbor and Washtenaw County have cooling centers open to help keep everyone safe.

🆘 Emergency Help – Delonis Center
The Delonis Center is offering weather amnesty this week with extended hours and cooling services for people experiencing homelessness or in crisis. Need transportation or help accessing a center? Call them at (734) 662‑2829.

Drink water regularly—avoid sugary or alcoholic drinks
Take breaks indoors, preferably in air conditioning
Limit outdoor activity to early morning or evening
Wear light-colored, loose-fitting clothes
