Ann Arbor’s newest park, Broadway Park West, finally has an official grand opening date: September 12, 2025. The park sits on seven acres along the Huron River in Lower Town and has been in development for years. Phase I opened quietly last fall, bringing new trails, a footbridge over the river, and a big lawn for gatherings. Now, Phase II adds the Pavilion, a 9,000-square-foot event space that can host up to 1,000 people outdoors or 300-500 inside—perfect for concerts, markets, and festivals. Future plans include the Ribbon, a seasonal splash pad that transforms into an ice-skating loop in winter. Built with sustainability in mind, including renewable energy features and native landscaping, Broadway Park West also connects directly to the Border-to-Border Trail. This project transforms a former industrial site into a vibrant community hub. The city is planning a celebration on September 12, and more details are expected soon. If you live in Ann Arbor or just love spending time by the river, this is a date worth saving.
