Discover 3D Printing at the Ann Arbor District Library

If you've ever been curious about 3D printing, the Ann Arbor District Library (AADL) offers fantastic opportunities to learn and create. With hands-on workshops and open lab sessions, the AADL provides free access to this cutting-edge technology, making it easy for anyone to explore the world of 3D printing.

Intro to 3D Printing Workshop

For beginners looking to get started, the Intro to 3D Printing workshop is the perfect first step. This class covers the basics of 3D printing technology and introduces participants to the library's available resources. Attendees will learn about how 3D printers work, explore design software, and even print a small object to take home. The next workshop is scheduled for Tuesday, April 15, 2025, from 5:30 pm to 7:30 pm at the Downtown Library’s Secret Lab, located in the basement of the downtown library branch.

3D Printing Open Lab

For those who already have some experience or want to experiment with new designs, the 3D Printing Open Lab sessions offer a collaborative space to work on projects. These open labs provide access to the library’s 3D printers, filament, and design stations, making them a great opportunity for makers, students, and hobbyists. Whether you need help refining your design, troubleshooting a personal printer, or just want to see the technology in action, the open lab is the place to be. Upcoming sessions are on Sunday, March 16, 2025, and Sunday, April 6, 2025, from 1:00 pm to 5:00 pm at the Downtown Library’s Secret Lab, located in the basement of the downtown library branch.
