Michigan Homecoming 2025: A Weekend of Maize & Blue Pride

ree

October 3–5, 2025 | Ann Arbor, Michigan

Homecoming 2025 at the University of Michigan brought together students, alumni, and fans from across the country for a weekend that truly embodied the phrase: “Your campus. Your people. Your weekend.”

From the moment we stepped onto campus, Ann Arbor was buzzing with energy. Everywhere you looked — from the Diag to the Big House — waves of maize and blue filled the streets. I went with a few friends, and it felt like the entire city had come alive again for one big family reunion.

The Heart of the Weekend: Michigan vs. Wisconsin

Saturday’s Homecoming game was the highlight of it all. The Wolverines took on the Wisconsin Badgers at the Big House, and with over 100,000 fans in attendance, the atmosphere was electric. The “Maize Out” theme turned the stadium into a sea of gold under the autumn sun. The Michigan Marching Band’s halftime show was unreal — a perfect mix of school pride and pure artistry.

Tailgates, Tours & Tradition

Before the game, we made our way to the Alumni Territory Homecoming Tailgate at Oosterbaan Field House. There was classic tailgate food, games, and live performances from student groups. Everyone was laughing, taking pictures, and reconnecting — you could feel the pride in every conversation.

Later, we joined one of the Big House Tours, which gave us a behind-the-scenes look at the stadium’s history. Standing on that field before the game started was surreal — it really made you appreciate Michigan tradition on another level.

Campus & College Celebrations

Throughout the weekend, colleges across campus hosted their own gatherings:

  • The Ford School gave out free maize t-shirts and welcomed alumni back with open arms.

  • The College of Pharmacy held a Friday night celebration that mixed fun with a bit of nostalgia.

  • The School of Social Work hosted a reunion luncheon and dessert reception, full of old classmates reconnecting after years apart.

  • Michigan Engineering held networking events where alumni shared stories about their time at U-M and where life has taken them since.

  • Taubman College, UM-Dearborn, and UM-Flint also hosted spirited events that tied the wider Michigan family together.

A Weekend of Spirit & Connection

For me, Michigan Homecoming 2025 was more than a football game — it was a reminder of what makes Ann Arbor feel like home. The laughter, the shared memories, the sea of maize and blue — it all came together to celebrate what it means to be a Wolverine.

As fireworks lit up the sky after the victory over Wisconsin, my friends and I looked around and just smiled. There’s something about this place — the energy, the people, the pride — that never fades.

Until next year, Go Blue. 💛💙
