🌳Top 4 Playgrounds to Explore with the Kids Around Ann Arbor This Summer

Summer in Ann Arbor means one thing if you’ve got little ones: it’s playground season. Whether you’re looking for something quiet and shaded or somewhere big enough for the whole crew to run wild, these four playgrounds bring the fun—plus a little extra. Here’s our official Ann Arbor Hub roundup of must-visit playgrounds for summer 2025:

🥇 #1 – Eberwhite Elementary School Playground

Location: 800 Soule Blvd, Ann Arbor, MI 48103

Eberwhite’s playground isn’t just a schoolyard—it’s a full-on community-built adventure zone. Rebuilt from the ground up by volunteers in 2019, it features custom wooden structures, big slides, climbing walls, and thoughtful design for a range of age groups. After school hours and on weekends, the playground is open to the public and often packed with local families.

✅ All-ages fun

✅ Plenty of shade

✅ A true neighborhood favorite

🥈 #2 – County Farm Park Playground

Location: 2230 Platt Rd, Ann Arbor, MI 48104

This place feels like a mini amusement park tucked into nature. The playground is huge, with tall towers, twisty slides, a zipline, adaptive swings, sandboxes, and climbing structures galore. And when the kids need a break, you’ve got walking trails, butterfly gardens, and shady picnic tables nearby.

✅ Great for toddlers and big kids

✅ Nature trails right next door

✅ Bathrooms on-site

🥉 #3 – Gallup Park Playground

Location: 3000 Fuller Rd, Ann Arbor, MI 48105

Gallup is Ann Arbor’s most iconic park, and its riverside playground holds up its end of the bargain. You’ll find accessible play structures, balance beams, toddler areas, and water views that parents won’t mind sitting next to for a while. The Border-to-Border Trail runs through here too, making it a great starting point for a walk or ride.

✅ River views + canoe rentals

✅ Smooth trails for strollers or scooters

✅ Nearby restrooms and picnic spots

#4 – Fuller Park Playground (with bonus access to Island Park!)

Location: 1519 Fuller Rd, Ann Arbor, MI 48105

Fuller Park’s playground is often overlooked, but it’s a gem—especially for families with kids of different ages. You’ve got monkey bars, slides, swings, and a big wooden “castle” to climb. But the bonus? A short walk takes you straight to Island Park, a peaceful little oasis in the middle of the Huron River. Pack a lunch and enjoy the bridges, river views, and shady picnic spots.

✅ Less crowded than other parks

✅ Bonus adventure to Island Park

✅ Perfect for low-key summer hangs
